Hi! We are Milena and Marco.

Marco grew up traveling to Italy thanks to his Italian father; I am Colombian, and our lives crossed paths on the island of Barú. That night, we were accompanied by a bright moon in a dark sky, reflected in the water, an image we will never forget and which we now find again at El Refugio Azul.

Since many years, we dreamed of having a place in Italy, always imagining a view of Lake Maggiore: me with my Colombian coffee in the mornings, him with his prosecco in the afternoons, and both of us sharing that same reflection on the lake.

That's how El Refugio Azul was born: a space that unites our roots, our encounter, and that shared dream. Welcome to our refuge. We will do our best to make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as we can.
